Electric Vehicles are gradually gaining huge popularity in the Indian market. Consumer preferences have now started inclining towards EVs due to their cost-effectiveness and eco-friendly nature in the long term. In recent times, there has been an influx of new electric cars in the market. However, post festive season, the sales have started to dwindle and hence automakers are offering great discounts to clear up their MY24 stocks. In this article, we have listed the best discounts on electric vehicles in India for December 2024. Leading carmakers like Tata Motors, Mahindra, and MG Motor India are offering huge discounts on their best-selling electric vehicles.
Best Discounts on Electric Vehicles for December 2024:
Tata Nexon EV: Up to Rs 3 lakh off
Tata’s best-selling mid-size SUV’s electrified version is offered with a whopping Rs 3 lakh discount for the MY23 model. Please do note that this is the pre-lift version of the Nexon EV and is only available at select dealerships across India depending on the inventory. Moreover, the facelifted MY23 model gets benefits of up to Rs 2 lakh. The MY24 Nexon EV doesn’t get any official discounts.
The Tata Nexon EV is available in two variants – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The MR gets a 30 kWh battery and has an ARAI-claimed range of 325 km on a full charge while the LR gets a larger 40.5 kWh battery and offers a range of 465 km on a single charge. Talking about the powertrain specs, the Nexon EV MR produces 129 bhp and 215 Nm, while the LR produces 145 bhp and 215 Nm of torque. The Tata Nexon EV is currently priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 17.19 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Tata Tiago EV, Tigor EV: Up to Rs 3 lakh off
Tata Motors’ entry-level EVs, the Tiago EV and Tigor EV, get discounts and benefits of up to Rs 1.15 lakh for MY24 models. This amount includes the exchange bonus offered for some variants. Moreover, the Tiago EV and Tigor EV for the old inventory of MY23 models get way higher discounts of up to Rs 2 lakh and an additional exchange bonus of Rs 1 lakh. However, please do note that these discounts will only be valid till the stocks last.
Just like the Nexon EV, the Tata Tiago EV is offered in two variants – Medium Range (MR) and Long Range (LR). The MR gets a 19.2 kWh battery and has an ARAI-claimed range of 250 km on a full charge while the LR gets a larger 24 kWh battery and offers a range of 315 km on a single charge. The Tigor EV gets a 26 kWh battery pack and is claimed to run 306 km on a full charge. The Tata Tiago EV is priced from Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 11.89 lakh while the Tigor EV retails from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 13.75 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
Tata Punch EV: Up to Rs 75,000 off
The Tata Punch EV doesn’t get hefty cash discounts but the company is offering exchange bonuses on select variants ranging from Rs 25,000 for the lower trims to Rs 70,000 for the range-topping variant. The Punch EV gets two battery pack options – a 25 kWh unit with 315 km of range and a 35 kWh battery with 421 km of MIDC range. Charging options include a 3.3kW wall box charger and a 7.2kW fast charger. The Long Range variants make 122 bhp and 190 Nm while the regular variants get an 82 bhp, 114 Nm motor. The new Tata Punch EV is currently priced from Rs 9.99 lakh to Rs 14.29 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
MG Comet and ZS EV: Up to 2.25 lakh off
MG Motor India is offering discounts of up to Rs 75,000 on the Comet EV while the ZS EV gets benefits worth up to Rs 2.25 lakh. The Comet EV comes with a 17.3 kWh battery that is IP67-rated and offers an ARAI-certified range of 230 km per charge. The MG ZS EV gets a 50.3kWh battery pack and has a claimed range of 461 km per charge. The MG Comet currently retails for Rs 6.99 lakh to Rs 9.65 lakh while the MG ZS EV is priced from Rs 18.98 lakh to Rs 25.75 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi. There are no discounts on MG’s best-selling EV, the Windsor, and it is priced from Rs 13.50 lakh to Rs 15.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
Mahindra XUV400: Up to Rs 3.10 lakh off
Finally, we have the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV on our list of best discounts for electric vehicles for this month as it gets a whopping Rs 3.10 lakh off for December. The XUV400 is a capable EV but doesn’t sell in great numbers. It comes with two battery pack options – 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh units. The XUV400 with the 34.5 kWh battery pack has a claimed range of 375 km per charge, while the one with the 39.4 kWh battery has a range of 456 km on a single charge. The Mahindra XUV400 is currently priced in India from Rs 15.49 lakh to Rs 19.39 lakh, ex-showroom Delhi.
